FAQ
Will the blue color look exactly as it does on my screen?
The topaz is transparent and faceted, so its color shifts with the angle and light source in ways a product photo can only partially capture. The enamel is opaque and glossy, which means it reads differently in direct light versus ambient light, and differently again depending on monitor calibration, browser settings, and device display technology. If you want a better look before deciding, reach out and we will do what we can.
Are these earrings heavy?
The drop is approximately 2.75 inches, so they have length, but enamel is a lightweight material and the overall construction is well-balanced. The 18K yellow gold friction posts and sterling silver friction backs keep them secure without adding unnecessary weight at the lobe.Â
Who are the Jensens?
The Jensens are the design duo behind this pair, and their work has a recognizable signature: material contrasts handled with real fluency, color used with confidence, and a construction quality that supports the ambition of the design. We carry their work because it consistently meets our standard for both originality and craft.
How do I style these?
Simple necklines give them the most room to do what they do. A clean crew neck, an open collar, a strapless neckline: anything that keeps the neck clear lets the full drop read. They also work in a more layered context if the rest of the look is relatively quiet. The blue reads as both casual and dressy depending on what surrounds it, which makes them more versatile than the length might initially suggest.
Can Alara help me if I am not in Bozeman, Montana?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Phone, email, video chat, webchat: we are set up to help wherever you are. For earrings with this much going on visually, a conversation or a better look in different lighting is often worth the few minutes it takes.
